🧰 Create Killer Presentations in 5 Minutes
Published about 12 hours ago • 5 min read
🧰 Smart tools. Useful tips. Weekly.
Hola friend 👋,
I’m Josep. Each week, I hunt down practical tools and productivity hacks to help digital doers like you do more with less effort.
This week: presentation tools that finally feel like the future.
For the longest time, creating presentations has been stuck in the past. We’ve had PowerPoint, Prezi, and even Google Slides for what feels like an eternity, and not much has changed. But, of course, AI is shaking things up.
A few days ago, I had to create a presentation on AI automation services for a potential new client, and I was running out of time. Yes, I used one of these new AI tools and had a solid draft ready in about 5 minutes.
That’s when I knew a newsletter on this topic was long overdue. These tools can be a massive time-saver for anyone who needs to pitch ideas, report on results, or create training materials.

Great emails don’t fail because of copy. They fail because the visuals don’t fit.
Shutterstock helps you find - or create - images that actually fit your brand.
Search by color, style, mood, or format. Or use GenAI to create exactly what you imagine, with no compromises.
For creators who care about conversions, free visuals cost more than Shutterstock ever will.
I’ve mentioned Gamma in the past, but after my recent experience, I’m so blown away that I had to give it a proper feature (and I even recorded a video about it for you). It feels like a true game-changer for presentation design.
Instead of wrestling with text boxes and slides, you just let its AI assistant generate the presentation from scratch. I only had to feed the slides rough ideas and pick a style, and within moments, I had an 85%-ready deck. A few tweaks and some AI image regeneration later, I was done.
I did all of this on their generous free plan, but paid plans are also not super expensive. It’s a completely new way of thinking about presentations (and social posts, documents and even websites), saving you hours of design work.
🛠️ Alternative to: PowerPoint, Google Slides, Prezi
It seems like Canva does everything these days, so of course, they have a presentation maker too. And it’s a solid choice, especially if you’re already deep into the Canva ecosystem.
It comes with thousands of templates and a drag-and-drop editor that makes customization easy. Their AI assistant can also generate a presentation from a prompt, though I found the results a bit more generic compared to Gamma.
If you’re a heavy Canva user, their presentation tool is probably more than enough for your needs. Most likely you won’t need to add another tool to your stack.
🛠️ Alternative to: PowerPoint, Prezi, Google Slides
If you’re looking to break free from the traditional slide-by-slide format, Prezi is for you. It’s been around for a while, but it still offers a unique, dynamic way to present information.
Prezi’s signature feature is its zoomable canvas, which lets you create non-linear presentations. Instead of moving from one slide to the next, you can zoom in and out of topics, creating a more engaging and memorable visual journey for your audience. Also, Prezi isn’t just for presentations; it also includes tools for video and visual content (e.g. infographics).
It has an AI assistant similar to Gamma's too, which is pretty cool. I was seriously impressed with how it handled the zoomable structure and visual journey. Though when it comes to pure design quality and style options, I still think Gamma edges it out.
It does come with a free plan, which is great. But paid plans start at $19 a month, which is not that affordable for just one tool.
🛠️ Alternative to: PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote
DataForSEO offers incredible SEO data you won’t find online unless you pay thousands for tools like Semrush or Ahrefs. But DataForSEO has a (partly) pay-as-you-go pricing model where you can access raw SEO data via API for anyone to use.
This one is a bit geeky, but it’s incredibly powerful. DataForSEO gives you API access to a massive amount of SEO data – think keyword rankings, SERP results, backlink analysis, and more. You pay as you go, so you’re only charged for the data you actually pull.
By combining it with an automation tool like n8n or Make.com, you could build your own custom SEO reports and dashboards for peanuts. For example, automatically track your daily keyword rankings in a Google Sheet or run in-depth competitor analysis without the hefty monthly subscription fees.
Feeling overwhelmed by your to-do list? This week’s hack is a simple but powerful system for planning your week and ensuring you’re always focused on what truly matters.
It combines three key ideas:
Weekly Priority Audit: On Friday, take 15 minutes to review your upcoming tasks. Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize them:
Urgent & Important: Do it now.
Important, Not Urgent: Schedule it.
Urgent, Not Important: Delegate it.
Not Urgent, Not Important: Delete it.
Plan Ahead: With your top priorities identified, schedule them into your calendar before the week begins. This protects your time and ensures you make progress on high-impact tasks.
End with a Plan: At the end of each day, write down the very first task you’ll tackle tomorrow. This simple act eliminates decision fatigue in the morning and lets you dive right into productive work.
This system helps you move from being reactive to proactive, turning your weekly chaos into a clear, actionable plan.
🍿 Plot Twist of the Week
Another week, another AI controversy. This time, it’s Elon Musk’s Grok AI making headlines for all the wrong reasons (again). The AI model, integrated into X (for me, it will always be Twitter), was found to be generating antisemitic responses and even praising Hitler.
When used, Grok said things like “The white man stands for innovation, grit and not bending to PC nonsense” and commented on a user’s Jewish surname. It even went as far as calling itself “MechaHitler” – whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Following the backlash, X took down these posts and claimed they made sure issues like this were fixed in their AI.
I often wonder: should AI have clear guidelines, or should we just let it run wild – like we let people run wild on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and so on?
Honestly, I don’t really have a good answer to that. What do you think?
